What stays on my machine and what is replaced?

The NXGEN Control is a drop in upgrade for your Fadal control. We replace the control cards, the card cage, the pendant and the power supply in the side cabinet. We use the rest of the machine, so you get to keep your current motors, spindle, amplifiers, spindle drive, and so on.

How long is the installation process?

For an experienced installer who is familiar with both the NXGEN and Fadal systems, we estimate the installation to take about seven hours.

Can I Do The Installation Myself?

Absolutely. If you are comfortable with the machine and/or have an in-house service department, we are happy to work with you. If you do not want to do the installation yourself, we can connect you with a nearby installer. We will work together to find the best installation path.

The Control Is Compatible With What Kind of Machines?

At this moment, the NXGEN Control is compatible with Fadal machines only.

How Do I Tell If I Have An AC or DC Machine?

To tell what type of servo system you have, simply check your axis motors. If they are square, they are AC. If they are round, they are DC.

Do I Need To Have An AC or DC System?

The Control is compatible with both. If you have a DC setup, our package comes with a feedback upgrade kit which replaces your resolver with a high resolution digital encoder.

I Have A DC Machine. Do I Need To Update It To AC?

No, you do not need to upgrade your machine to an AC to be compatible with the NXGEN Control.

Do You Have 4th And 5th Axis Integration?

Yes, the Control is compatible with both the A and AB axes.
